Why the plate, and not the logo at full size. Rendering a supplier logo at full size in the photography slot reads as a broken image, and it puts a third saturated red (#E1251B) opposite the brand red. The catalog image is kept, at thumbnail size and labelled, so the evidence survives without pretending to be product photography. That evidence is not a one-off: content-hashing eight Cummins products returned three identical 2-4KB logo files, a 300-product sample across all six brand collections resolves to about 50 distinct images once Shopify hash suffixes are stripped, and 11% of parts have no image at all.
